Morning After

I feel much better about my race this morning because of how bad I feel. I never feel sore after my normal runs. Today, my muscles ache. I obviously pushed myself yesterday which is good.

Sounds like you have the right idea. It is a fun thing to do, a way to fellowship with others, and a fun way to maintain fitness. You are learning that you need to do more than just jog two or three times per week. There is a need for some distance work and some speed work. Sounds like you have a plan. That is the fun part – planning, cataloging, executing, and measuring your results. Enjoy and congratulations on your PR!
