I have reverted back to the default WordPress theme (the look/design template) because my old theme got hacked and had some links inserted to build up the Google Page ranking of a fradulent site. I will find a new theme soon and update. Hopefully I won’t get hacked again.

I have been getting the Wall Street Journal for about 6 months now, and I have greatly enjoyed it. Besides keepng me abreast of the financial world, it has opened my eyes to a whole range of ideas. This week’s Saturday edition opened my eyes to new ways to look at tuxedos. I only thought tuxedos were the classic black and white. But now designers are breaking new ground in tuxedo looks, although some may snipe and say the ground they are breaking is one of bad taste.

Not me. I am open to new experiences. I am not going to be shackled by convention thinking. I am a free spirit, a rebel, an iconoclast. But I still seek the fashion approval of my peers to fit in and feel accepted and loved. Thus, I have a new poll to let you tell me which tuxedo I should buy and wear to my next formal outing. See the choices below and vote for your favorite.

I put up a new poll to the right. Since Ava is now crawling (barely), walking is soon to follow. When will that be? We will find out, but your best guess is welcomed.

Actually, I am not really that anxious for her to walk. As she is my second, I have learned from Jacob the blessing of an immobile child. As cute as it is to see them walk, it opens up a whole new set of worries and concerns. Right now it is great that we can put her in her room, surround her with some little toys and walk away knowing she will still be in the room when we get back. Once she starts to walk and crawl better, then that option is gone.

Also, I was tried of seeing the old poll up for her name. In case you were wondering, most people call her Ava, Jacob and I tend to call her Ava Lauren and Shannon still has some regret we did not make her forename Lauren.

Sometime on Monday, my car will pass the 100,000 mile mark. This 2000 Corolla is only the 4th car I have ever own. I started driving with a 86 Mecury Capri that I drove through my freshman year of college. Then I had a 94 Corolla through college and when I moved to Dallas. In November 2000, I bought my current Corolla. After Jacob was born, we bought a 2005 Highlander which already has nearly 70,000 miles on it.

My 2000 Corolla was a program car with about 10,000 miles on it when I bought it. Technically, I personally have not put 100,000 miles on this car, but still passing the 100,000 mark is significant. The 94 Corolla was also a program car but I only got to 80,000 with it. In celebration of my little Corolla’s special mileage birthday, I have a new poll to the right. How many miles have you ever put on a single car?
